Marjorie C. Zunk

Marjorie C. Zunk, 88, of Oak Harbor, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Stein Hospice In-patient Unit, Sandusky. She was born on July 11, 1928 to Edward and Josephine (Hess) Schultz. On July 8, 1947 in Oak Harbor she married Ralph C. Zunk, and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2009. Marjorie worked as a bookkeeper for her husbands gas and fuel oil delivery business. She was a longtime member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, life member of the Oak Harbor American Legion Auxiliary and the Oak Harbor V.F.W. Auxiliary, and a former member of the Rocky Ridge Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She was proud that she was baptized, confirmed, and married by Reverend Brandt at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, where she was also a member of the Deborah Circle. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Joanne Blevins of Port Clinton, granddaughters, Danielle (Ross) Zunk-Gillespie of Powell, OH and Cassie Ahlgrim of Fremont, great grandchildren, Maddy Cooper Ahlgrim and Tommy Mara Gillespie, daughter-in-law, Tammy L. Zunk of Fremont, sister-in-laws, Mary Schultz and Dorothy Banky both of Oak Harbor, nieces nephews, and her family friends at Covenant Harbor. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Tommy M. Zunk, son-in-law, H. Brett Blevins, sister, Marie Goetz, and brothers, Glenn Myron Schultz. Visitation for Marjorie will be 2-8 p.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, where the funeral will be conducted by Reverend David Hendricks at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 15, 2016. Interment will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorials for Marjorie may be given to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 122 W. Ottawa St., Oak Harbor, OH 43449 or in care of the family.
