Marjorie L. Marji Swope

Marjorie Marji L. Swope, 78, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Bowling Green Care Center, Bowling Green, Ohio. She was born on August 18, 1937 in Portage Township, Ottawa County, Ohio, to Isadore and Myrtle (Kahler) Mehlman, M.D. She graduated from Libbey High School in Toledo in 1955. Marjorie attended The Ohio State University, Mercy School of Nursing in Toledo, Nursing School at Mary Manse College in Toledo, and Owens Community College in Findlay. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Riverside Hospital, St. Charles Hospital, and Mercy Hospitals, and as a home healthcare nurse for the State of Ohio. She was also a professional photographer. Marjorie was a very good swimmer and in her younger years she was a swimming instructor. Marjorie is survived by her children, Randall (Deb) Swope, Monica (fiancé Greg Gnieser) Swope, Richard Swope, and Ryan Swope, eight grandchildren, Jason Bidlack, Jessica Mitchell, Kristy Ramirez, Alisha Fouke, Samantha Wargowsky, Taylor Swope, Rebecca Swope, and Summer Swope, nine great grandchildren, four nieces, and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Dr. Duane Mehlman and Jack Mehlman. Cremation has taken place under the direct care of the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Oak Harbor. Services for Marjorie will be private. Memorial contributions for Marjorie may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Bowling Green Care Center Auxiliary.
