MARJORIE JEAN STAGER Marjorie Jean Stager, age 82, of Metamora left this world peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was also a breast cancer survivor. Marjorie was a long time employee of the A & P Food Store, owner of Marjorie’s Boutique, and volunteered at Flower Hospital. Marjorie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was always there through the smiles and the tears. A devoted wife, when her husband was ill and a loving mother when her son was ill. As kids growing up we kept her busy. We were all into sports, music, dance, and she was always there for us. When we grew up and started having children of our own, she became known as Grandma GG to her grandchildren. Death takes the body, God takes the soul, but we get to keep the memories, and what good memories they are. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; son, David; granddaughter, Patricia, and daughter-in-law, Debby. She is survived by sones, Richard, and Thomas (Kim); daughters, Shirley (David) Miller, and Cynthia Stager; step-brothers, John and charles Hughes, and her dear friend, Lois Bettinger. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren. There will be no public visitation. A Celebration of Life for Marjorie will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 124 West Main Street, Metamora, Ohio. A special thanks to Heartland Hospice and the staff at Swanton Valley Care and Rehab for their tender care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations in Marjorie’s name be made to the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 124 W. Main St./ P.O. Box 217, Metamora, OH 43540.
