Marjorie Morton Rummel

November 24, 1933 — October 12, 2014

Marjorie Morton Rummel passed away in her sleep at Parkcliffe Community on October 12, 2014 after a long battle with Alzheimers disease. She was 80 years old. Margie was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 24, 1933 to WIlbur and Ada Morton. She attended St. Ursula Academy and Central High School. She graduated from the Ohio State University with a bachelors degree in dental hygiene, a profession she loved and practiced full-time and later part-time until her retirement. She married Roger Rummel in 1966, and together they raised three wonderful children, Heidi, Matthew and Ryan. Margie was a vital, active and fun-loving person. She volunteered her time with many organizations and was always willing to take a leadership role. She cofounded the Ability Center Auxiliary and belonged to the Sunshine Childrens Home Auxiliary, Gamma Phi Alumni group, Flower Hospital Auxiliary, and many others. Margie was a long time member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She loved helping others and made time to be an outstanding mother. Margie is preceded in death by her parents and a young son, Chad Toplin. She is survived by her husband Roger, daughter Heidi (Steve) Krone, sons Matthew and Ryan, four grandchildren, Laura Rummel, Jonathan Krone, Charlotte Krone, and Annie Rose Krone, sister Margaret Bockbrader, and nieces and nephew. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the very caring and capable staffs at both Parkcliffe Community and Kingston Residence where she spent the last five and one half year of her life. Friends and family will be received from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Road) where services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 16, 2014. Interment at Toledo Memorial Park will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the Ability Center of Northwest Ohio, 5605 Monroe Street, Sylvania, Ohio 43560; Senior Independence Hospice, 1730 S. Reynolds Road, Toledo, Ohio 43614; or a charity of your choice.
