Marjorie Gay Mccabe

Marjorie “Marge” G. McCabe (89) born December 28, 1935, went home to be with her lord and savior on May 11, 2025. Born to Van and Helen B. Longenecker who proceeded her in death as well as her sister, Esther Cummings, brother, Frank Longenecker, and son, David Clemments. She is survived by her son, Paul (Pamela) Clemments of Ohio and sister, Mary (Mac) Smith of Wichita, 2 grandchildren, Elliott and Madi, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marge graduated from East High School and followed her dream of being an educator. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Emporia State College and later went on to earn a master’s in education from Wichita State University. Marge was a life-long learner and educator teaching 6th Grade for much of her career at McCollum Elementary and later at Curtis Jr. High. Marge was an avid reader, crossword master, devoted Christian, friend, and mom.

A lifelong resident of Wichita, KS, she spent the last 3 years of her life in Toledo, Ohio with her son, Paul and family. She enjoyed her grandchildren and being near family in her final years.

Services will be conducted on Monday, May 19th at Resthaven Mortuary at 1PM, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, KS, 67209.
