Marjorie Merrow Marcet

Marjorie Merrow Marcet age 68 of Ottawa Lake, MI passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, January 7, 2021 in her home. She was born July 28, 1952 in Fernandina Beach, Florida to Samuel and Marjorie (Bonner) Merrow. She was a graduate of the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. She worked at various medical facilities as an ultrasound technician in Alabama and northern Virginia. Later, she was an 8th grade assistant at St. Joseph School and finished her working career as an office worker for Jeff Traudt State Farm Insurance. Her life revolved around her faith and she was a proud convert to Catholicism. Marjorie was actively involved in every choir of every church she attended. She was also involved in funeral ministry, altar guild, Alpha, Welcoming Committee, and Bible study. She was a certified catechist, Eucharistic Minister and lector. She also loved to cook. Her greatest wish was to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone she met. On the lighter side, she was proud to be the only one at church camp who could touch her nose with her tongue. Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by her only son, Benjamin (Christina) Cushman; grandchildren, Greyson and Layla, whom she adored; sister, Ann (Ron) Lofaro; brother, Randy (Liz) Merrow; nephew, Frank; and niece, Samantha. She is also survived by her very good friend, Merrilee Jaskulski and her children Christian and Catherine. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) after 9 am where prayers will begin at 10:30 am followed by the funeral mass at 11 am in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 5411 Main St. Sylvania, Ohio 43560. Due to COVID masks and social distancing will be observed. Interment will be private. The funeral mass will be livestreamed and may be viewed on St. Joseph’s website; stjoesylvania.org The family suggests memorials be to St. Joseph’s Church.
