Marjorie J. Johnston, age 86, of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 1, 1932 to Clifford and Hazel (Davis) Johnson. Marjorie was employed at Glass City Credit Union for 34 years, retiring in 1997. She also volunteered at St. Lukes Hospital for 15 years. Marjorie enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, needlepoint, knitting, bowling, mushroom hunting, gambling and was an avid animal lover. Surviving are her daughters; Vicki (Joe) Spenthoff of Delta, Ohio; Sue (Ted) Wyrembek of Swanton, Ohio; 6 grandchildren Amy (Brett) Chovan and their children, Brandon and Matthew; Donald (Holly) Spenthoff and their children, Zach, Gracie, and Luke; Benjamin Wyrembek and his son, Teddy; Steve (Katie) Spenthoff and their children, Jake, Pete, and Ben; Paul (Mary) Spenthoff and their children, London and Emerson; and Dan Spenthoff. Also surviving is her sister in-laws, Barbara Henry and JoAnne Johnson; nieces, Harriet Pitzen, Deb (Buzz) Brown; nephew, Ken (Diane) Garn; cousin, Charles (Mina) Rickard and special friend, Jane Wise. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Cortland Johnston; former husband John T. Coates; sisters, Helen Spangler and Phyllis Garn; and brothers, James, Raymond, Harold, and Donald Johnson. Family and friends will be received at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 4-8 P.M. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 11 A.M. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 or the Toledo Humane Society, 827 Illinois Ave, Maumee, Ohio 43537.
