Marjorie Jean Hollis

Marjorie Jean Hollis, 84, of Croton On Hudson, NY, died early Tuesday October 21, 2008, at her daughters home in Northwood. Marjorie was born July 7, 1924, in Peekskill, NY, to John A. and Ida Mildred Queen Anderson. On October 20, 1946, in Croton-On-The Hudson, NY, she married Joseph Hollis, who preceded her in death June 11, 2005. Marjorie worked as a secretary for the VA Hospital in New York for several years. She was also a model for Womens Home Companion, a magazine in print during the l940s. She enjoyed taking care of her houseplants, watching birds and playing the piano and the clarinet. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Marcia C. Harold Hughes of Northwood, twin sister, Shirley Albright of Florida, and grandson, James N. Hollis of Albany, NY. Her parents, husband, and son, James D. Hollis, preceded her in death. According to the familys wishes, there will be no visitation, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
