Marjorie Fillmore, 94, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 30, 1930, in Oak Harbor, OH to Adolph and Louisa (Matthiesen) Hameister. On April 22, 1950, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor, she married Emerson Fillmore, and he preceded her in death on April 13, 2014. Marjorie was a longtime member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor and past member of Epsilon ETA of Sigma Alpha Sorority. She had worked at Memorial Hospital for many years, and at Our Lady of the Pines before she permanently retired. Her favorite role was being a farmwife to Emerson.
Marjorie had a great sense of humor, loved to play cards, and enjoyed staying home in her jammies watching tv and snuggling with her dogs. She had a fun time going out to dinner, especially to Red Lobster with Sue Allen, Dolly and Ray Wilkins where she got her favorite glittery wine drink with cherries! She enjoyed campfires at the Wilkins,’ out at the campgrounds, and on her back patio. She also loved a good murder mystery and was a voracious reader.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Dan (Karen) Fillmore, Sandra Fillmore, Theodore (Vicki) Fillmore, and Crystal Cleary, five grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren, and Grandfurbabies Paco, Pedro, Piper, Toby, Emmy, Little G., and Guinea Girls. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Janet Hameister Brewer.
A memorial service for Marjorie will be conducted by Pastor Becky Bolander 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions in memory of Marjorie be directed to Heartland Hospice or the Ottawa County Humane Society.
