Marjorie Fern Esser

December 29, 1918 — June 8, 2010

Marjorie Fern Esser, 91, of Sylvania Twp., died peacefully at The Toledo Hospital on Tuesday, June, 8, 2010. The widow of Richard A. Esser, she was the youngest of eight children of Benjamin and Emma Stock. Born in Blissfield, MI, Marjorie was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters. Marjorie lived her whole life fully and independently. She had a sparkling wit and good sense of humor, always enjoying a good laugh. Marjorie spent her life in the Toledo area and wintered in Sarasota, FL. She loved her homes, both in Toledo and Sarasota, had a flair for decorating which is evident if visiting any of her homes. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. She was well known around the area, especially at Eddie Lees, for her enjoyment of her vodka cocktail in a wine stem glass with anchovy olives-because it tasted better that way. Marjorie was one of the first people in Toledo to run multi-family garage sales and was an avid garage sale shopper. She later ran a consignment shop, Our Store, with her two good friends, Diane Treu and Betty Brott. Up until the end of her life Margie exuded a vital spirit remaining in full command of her life and faculties continuing to work two days a week at the Treu House of Munch , playing cards weekly, and having wonderful times socializing with her family and friends. Marjorie is survived by her children, Rich Esser and his wife, Sandy, Kendra Esser, Kim Esser, and Judy Stolz and her husband, Jim; grandchildren, Scott Stolz, Craig Stolz wife, Kim, Kendall Stolz husband, Steve, Todd Esser wife, Nicole, Tracy Esser husband, Dr. Joe Perkins, Tori Rumpf, Ben Rumpf, and Chris Scheufler; and great-grandchildren, Stella Martin, Astra Martin, and Caroline Rae Esser. She is also survived by nieces and nephews: Dori, Gary, Cheryl, Terry, Susan, Cheri, Elwood, Bob, April, Sally, Mark, Mike, Maggie, Dawn, Karen, Rick, Patti, Joe and Bonnie. So to all who knew and loved her lets remember all the good times and now imagine her at peace, happy again with her loved ones, especially her husband Dick Esser. And as her favorite song goes, Well always be thinking of you, Margie.
