Marjorie B. Callahan

Marjorie B. Callahan, age 94, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, Ohio. She was born on January 28, 1921 in Toledo, Ohio to Howard and Marguerite (Schneider) Myers. Marjorie graduated from Scott High School in 1939 and attended Stautzenberger Business College. Her first job while in High School was as a waitress. She then got a job as a Cigar-Cigarette Girl at Swayne Field on Detroit Avenue and worked as a secretary in a law firm. After furthering her education through correspondence bookkeeping courses, Marjorie took a sales job with Gibboney Plumbing and heating and then went on to be a Controller for Dunbar Mechanical Inc, where she retired after 28 years. She was an avid flower gardener and kept photos of her beautiful lawns. Marjorie enjoyed taking care of her yard and even enjoyed mowing. She was married to Thurman (Bill) Turner for 25 years and then married the love of her life Frank J. Callahan, whom she enjoyed 29 years together. Marjorie is survived by her sister-in-law, Roberta Myers and her children; step-son, Jim (Debbie) Callahan and their children, Christian and Joy; nephew, Scott (Marilyn) Sheperd and their children, Amelia and Sara; nephew, Tim (Cathy) Callahan and their children, Breana and Brendan; great nieces, Marjorie (Jerry) Houlihan and Lynne Tribble; great nephew, Joe Schramm and many other nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank; brother, Howard; sister, Phyllis (Robert) Sheperd and niece, Sue (Mike) Schramm. A special thank you to the staff at Wolf Creek and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for all of your love and support. Friends and family will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee on Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 1:00 PM until the time of services at 4:00 PM. Interment will be private at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E.
