Marion G. Mim Martin

July 10, 1922 — January 31, 2018

Marion George Martin “Mim” died peacefully on January 31, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born in Cincinnati Ohio on July 10, 1922 and attended Withrow High School, where she met her husband, John T. Martin. They attended Miami University in Ohio, where Mim and Tom became a “Miami merger”. They shared a lifelong love of music that brought great joy to family and many friends. With her musical talent she wrote many songs, accompanied many musicians, including her husband of almost 60 years, trained six children and shared endless musical memories with a wide range of friends. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought great joy to her life and were a constant source of love and inspiration. She was a strong role model and witness in her Christian faith for everyone she met. She is survived by her six children, Tom (Diane), Dave (Kathy), Rick, Jan Neff (BC), Tricia McFerran (Kent) and Bob (Judy), 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation for friends and family will be held at Walker Funeral Home in Sylvania at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 3, followed by a service at noon. Condolences may be sent through this website. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Creation Community Church, 4556 Sulgrave Drive, Toledo, OH 43623.
