Marion Knauss

Marion Anna Knauss Whitbeck, 97, of Toledo, Ohio died on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Swan Creek Health Care Center. She was born on November 17, 1917 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Christian William and Lydia Louise (Weller) Matthews. She married Richard Whitbeck on December 10, 2011 in Toledo, Ohio. Marion was a member of the Calvary Assemble of God church. She was gifted in multiple styles of needlework, and was known for the many beautiful sweaters that she knitted for her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Whitbeck; son, David Knauss; brother, Christian (Elaine) Matthews, nieces, a nephew and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Ernest Knauss. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Reed Chapel at Swan Creek Retirement Village, 5916 Cresthaven Lane Toledo, OH 43614. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Swan Creek Retirement Village for the Life Care Commitment Fund.
