Marina Esther Hernandez

Marina E. Hernandez, 48, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, after a lengthy illness. She had been a resident of the Orchard Villa Nursing Home for the past two years. Marina was born in Oregon, the daughter of Juan and Sylvia (Erevia) Hernandez, on February 11, 1976, and she attended Genoa High School.

Marina was a very giving person, and for that reason she became a Nurses Aid and spent a number of years caring for the residents at Riverview Nursing Home in Oak Harbor, Ohio. She also worked for the former Manos restaurant in downtown Toledo for several years. Her real love in life was her children and grandchildren, there was always time for them and she shared all of their triumphs as if it was their first! Marina was a little mischievous and a rulebreaker, but always in great fun!

Marina is survived by her loving family, children, Cheyenne (Antione) Hernandez, Christopher (Tatiana) Speigner, Jr., Cortez (Heaven) Hernandez, and Drayshawn Edwards; grandchildren, Joseph Hubbard, Cortez Hernandez, Jr., Carlito Hernandez, Antoine Rogers, Jr., Jacarrii Rogers, Christopher Speigner III, Isabella Hernandez, Christiana Speigner, and Darya Williams; along with her siblings, Martin (Tara) Erevia, Eliseo (Kimberly) Rodriquez, and Bonifacio (Joy) Hernandez; many nieces and nephews; and lifelong companion, Chris Speigner. She was preceded in death by her parents and niece, Crystal Rose Meyers.

There will be a celebration of Marina’s life scheduled in the future. Those wishing to make a memorial donation are asked to consider the American Diabetes Assoc.
