Marilyn J. Wymer, 74, of Maumee, Ohio passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, following a lengthy illness. She worked 28 and a half years as an LPN at The State Mental Health Hospital in Toledo, OH, until 1991. She then worked for 7 years as a nurse at Bowling Green Manor in Bowling Green, OH and retired from nursing in 1999. In retirement, she continued to be active working part time in various retail jobs at Dillards Target. Marilyn loved animals. She was very active in greyhound rescue through the North Coast Greyhound Connection (http://wwvv.ncgcohio.org) .) She assisted in fostering over 50 greyhounds through her home, and she and her husband Jack have kept eleven in total as personal pets over the last 21 years. Marilyn also enjoyed history, particularly Scottish history, and was a participant in the Society for Creative Anachronism for over 25 years, earning many awards for her calligraphy and illumination. Survivors include her husband of 31 years, E. Jack Wymer, her brother Ron Geyer, her sister-in-law Barb Geyer, numerous nieces and nephews and 3 step-sons. In accordance with her wishes there will be no viewing or memorial service. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial contributions may be given to the ASPCA, The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
