Marilyn E. Velikoff, 85,of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on, December 20, 2014 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 24, 1929 in Crestline, OH, to Ralph Eugene “Red” and Elsie (Yeitter) Sherer. On Christmas Day 1950, in Crestline, Ohio, she married Alexander E. Velikoff, they shared many happy years, until he preceded her in death in November 1994. Marilyn worked as a registered nurse for H. B. Magruder Hospital and Riverview Nursing Home. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Her home was always a welcome haven for friends and family where all were accepted with open arms, delectable food, and Marilyn’s love and conversation. Marilyn was an accomplished fisherwoman, loved gardening, sewing and was proficient in many forms of needlework. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Sharon Velikoff of Port Clinton, Ohio and Anne Velikoff of Findlay, Ohio; sons: Michael (Jeannie) Velikoff of Taylor Mill, Kentucky and John Velikoff of Boise, Idaho; sisters: Dorothy (Fred) Reight of Columbus, Ohio, Joyce Neruda of Gaylord, Michigan and Jackie (Mark) DeVine of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Carly (Jesse) Capone, Miranda Velikoff and partner Jeff Fein, Ian, Spencer and Hannah Velikoff and April (Adam) Reynolds. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son: Alexander E. Velikoff. Calling hours will be, Saturday, December 27th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00PM, Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the funeral home. Memorial donations in memory of Marilyn may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
