Marilyn L. Szabo

Marilyn L. Szabo, aged 97 of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully Saturday, June 24, 2023. She was born in Grant, Michigan on March 22, 1926 to William Barth and Helen Louise McKinlay. Her husband, Nicholas V., preceded her in death on May 10, 2007.

She is survived by her four children: Nicholas W., Mali (Tom) Cotton, George C., and Chris (Steve) Valigosky. She was a loving grandmother to Karie (Bo) Hill, Andy (Cathy) Cotton, Laura (Nick) Manzo, Alex (Sandra C.) Valigosky, and Zack (Vanessa) Valigosky. She was also a loving great-grandmother to Ally and Ryan Hill, Brandon Cotton, and Sophia and Vincent Manzo. She will be dearly missed by her dear sister, Ardith McKinlay. She was preceded in death by her brother, William McKinley and sister, Joanne VanderWeyden.

The family will be welcoming visitors at Walker Funeral Home at 3500 Navarre Avenue, Oregon, OH 43616 on Thursday, June 29 from 3 to 8 pm with a Byzantine prayer service being held at 4:00 pm. The funeral will be at St. Michael The Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church, 4001 Navarre Avenue, Oregon, OH on Friday, June 30th at 10 am. The inurnment will be private. The family asks that any gifts or donations be given to St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or the charity of their choice.
