Marilyn Ann Roesti

Marilyn Ann (Lowe) Roesti, age 84, of Toledo, OH passed away July 25, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 27, 1939 in Marietta, OH to David and Helen (Crooks) Lowe. Marilyn grew up in McConnelsville, Ohio. She was a graduate of The Ohio State University School of Pharmacy. A trailblazer, she was one of five women in her freshman class to ever be accepted into the pharmacy program. Over her career as a pharmacist, Marilyn worked at numerous pharmacies in northwest Ohio including Churchills Market and Orchard Drugstore.

Marilyn had an adventurous spirit and adored traveling worldwide with her favorite destinations being Switzerland and Salzburg, Austria. Many of her trips were for research for her favorite hobby of genealogy. Marilyn was able to trace her family roots as far back as the 1600’s and wrote several books on her family history. She could often be found exploring cemeteries looking for the tombstones of long-lost relatives. Marilyn was also an avid reader, especially mystery novels.

Her husband, Harold, and she built a house on Lake Seneca where they created many wonderful memories together boating, water skiing and jet skiing. Marilyn was very athletic and enjoyed rollerblading and playing tennis. She loved to sunbathe even at temperatures as low as 50 degrees. Marilyn was enthusiastic when it came to volunteering her time. She worked many schoolbook fairs and magazine drives even after her children did not attend the school.

Marilyn is survived by her three children, Jeffrey (Mary) Roesti, Laura (James) Rothschild; and Bradley (Stephanie) Roesti; and 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; brother, David Lowe; and step-son, Steve Roesti.

Family and friends may visit Monday, July 31, 2023 from 4-7 pm at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. The Funeral Service for Marilyn will be held Tuesday, August 1, at 10 am in the funeral home, preceded by visitation from 9-10 am. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
