Marilyn J. (Klotz) Proudfoot, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2015 in her room at The Lakes of Monclova, where she had resided the past few years. She was born on March 2, 1932 to Joseph and Carolyn (Stahl) Klotz on her grandparents’ farm on Wheeling Street in Toledo. Marilyn was the oldest of five children, Joanne, Carol, Baby Joey and Janet. They were raised on a farm in South Toledo where Rudy’s currently sits on Glendale, and she remained just a quarter of a mile down the road for the majority of her life. They were happily married for 53 years until Paul’s passing in 2010. Marilyn’s greatest accomplishments were that of wife, mother and Ga to her three grandchildren. She was a voracious reader and especially loved Harlequin Romance novels, always had a passion for art, and loved wildlife of any kind. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Proudfoot; sisters Joanne Callendar, Carol Marty and Janet Ammann; infant brother Joey Klotz. Surviving are her daughter, Lynette (Tom) Gergich; son, Paul (Cate) Proudfoot II; grandchildren Amanda and Zach Gergich and Paul Proudfoot III; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside service will take place Friday, January 30, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Maumee. Arrangements handled by Maison Dardenne Walker Funeral Home.
