Marilyn Marek

Marilyn Marek, 70, of Gypsum, Ohio, passed away, unexpectedly, Monday, December 12, 2011, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, OH. Marilyn was born August 16, 1941, in Port Clinton, Ohio, the daughter of Bennie R. and Josephine Kokinda Marek. Marilyn worked at Underwoods restaurant as a waitress for 41 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Marilyn volunteered for Care Share in Gypsum for the last 3 years. She enjoyed helping those in need. Marilyn will be greatly missed by her loving friends and family. Survivors include: Sister: Bonnie Clyde Crum of Oak Harbor, OH; Brothers: Gerald Nancy Marek of Port Clinton, OH and John Janet Marek of Huntersville, NC; 4 Nephews; 1 Niece; 13 Great Nieces Nephews and her faithful friend dog: Ebony. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be 2-4 6-8PM, Thursday, December15, 2011 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted by Father John Missler at 11:00AM, Friday, December 16, 2011 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH with prayers at the funeral home at 10:30AM. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions in memory of Marilyn may be given to Care and Share, Lake St., Gypsum, OH.
