Marilyn Louise Grogg was born November 16, 1931 in Toledo and entered the Kingdom of God on June 3, 2016 at Elizabeth Scott Care Center, Maumee. A graduate of the University of Toledo with a BA and MA in Education, Marilyn taught with Toledo Public Schools for 40 years. She enjoyed playing tennis at Shadow Valley Tennis and doing aerobic dancing. Marilyn was a longtime member of North Cove Boulevard Church of God and involved in many activities over the years including Sunday school teacher and superintendent and Vacation Bible School/Summer Day Camp director. She also taught Sunday school at Calvary Assembly of God. Marilyn also loved teaching her children and grandchildren very much. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Richard J. Grogg; brother, Jonathan Brown; children, Carolyn Stringfield (Dewey), Stephen Grogg (Becky), Jennifer Longmuir and Suzanne Neifer (David); grandchildren, Sarah Louviere, David Stringfield, Tyler, Alex and Stephanie Grogg, Chad Longmuir, Melissa Bahleda, Ashley, Abigail and Christian Neifer; great grandchildren, Jabin Stringfield and Willow Longmuir; and many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Edwin Brown in 1960 and Ruth Brown in 1972; an infant daughter in 1965; and brother, Edwin Brown Jr. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016 in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Trinity Church of the Nazarene.
