Marilyn I. Fondessy

Marilyn Mickey Irene Coon Fondessy of Oregon was lifted up peacefully by the hands of God on Monday, February 3, 2014, from Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Marilyn was born in Curtice, Ohio, July 9, 1935, to Walter E. and Myrtle L. Heltebrake Coon. She grew up on her parents dairy farm Coons Dairy and milked cows before going to school. Marilyn was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Williston. On June 4, 1955, she married her best friend, Emerson M. Fondessy, who preceded her in death on March 7, 1991. Marilyn was a dietary aide for the Luther Home of Mercy in Williston for 24 years and worked as a cafeteria aide for Genoa Schools. Marilyn loved to cook and bake and was famous for her cinnamon rolls. She frequented Bob Evans restaurant in Northwood and met friends there daily for breakfast. Her other passion was her family. She was always concerned about everyone and was the most unselfish person anyone would know. She is survived by her loving sons, Dean Fondessy of Northwood and Kurt Fondessy of Oregon; daughters, Marene Fondessy and Karolyn Owen, Jr. Fondessy Jansen, both of Oregon; grandchildren, Michael Teresa Fondessy of Perrysburg and Victoria and Ricky Kiss of Oregon; and great grandchildren, Addyson and Dallas Fondessy. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her sister, Ruth Sawmiller. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, February 6, 2014, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 7, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church, Williston, with burial to follow in Allen Township Cemetery. The family has asked that memorials be directed to Luther Home of Mercy, 5810 N. Main St., P.O. Box 187, Williston, OH 43468; St. John Lutheran Church, 21140 W. Toledo St., P.O. Box 235, Williston, OH 43468; or the family.
