Marie E Woods

Marie Eleanor Hunt Woods, Age 94, died Monday, October 10, 2016. Marie was born in Port Washington, New York, raised in Sewickley Heights, Pennsylvania and graduated from Wittenberg University (1944). She began her adult life in northwestern Ohio as a Perrysburg High School physical education teacher and long-time farm owner with her husband in Monclova where they raised their family. They retired to Florida and then to Columbus, Ohio. Preceded in death by parents, Edward Albert and Marie Nelson Hunt; loving husband of 59 years, William Stanley Woods and son Walter Nelson Woods, brother, Albert (Nymah) and sisters Evelyn (Mac) McCall and Karen (Jake) Reckhart. Marie is survived by son, William (Mary) and daughters: Alice ( Tom) Edwards, Colleen (John) Gotherman and Lorraine Alpers. She is also survived by grandchildren: Kristin, Matthew, Rebecca, Meggen, Luke, Zak, Erin Nicole and great grandchildren: Jolee, Colton, Brooklyn, Satya and Ryker along with many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the Forum at Knightsbridge and Kobacker House for their care. A private graveside service will be held at Ft. Meigs Cemetery in Perrysburg, Ohio on Saturday, October 15, 2016, followed by a reception for friends and family at Monclova Community Center, 11 AM to 2 PM, 8115 Monclova Road, Monclova, OH 43542.
