Marie Olive Vernier

MARIE O. VERNIER Marie Olive Vernier, age 91, of Holland, Ohio died Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Ebeid Hospice on the campus of Flower Hospital. She was born October 30, 1919, in Toledo to Bernard Francis and Olive (Beiser) McCloskey. A graduate of Scott High School, Marie was employed by Dura Corporation, retiring in 1990 at the age of 70. In Marie’s younger days, she was an exceptional softball player. She was an avid reader who enjoyed sewing and cooking. Marie also enjoyed traveling alongside her sister, Bernadine, but most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her loving daughters, Geraldine O. Terhune and Robin L. (Robert) Churchill; grandchildren, Debbie McPherson, Paul, Dan and Steve Holley, Andrew and Aaron Churchill; 11 great grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Olive; brothers, James, Norman and Patrick McCloskey; sisters, Bernadine Holloway, Myrtine Witaszek, Romaine Roach as well as her son-in-law, Kenneth Terhune. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 4-8 P.M. in Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway in Holland (419-865-8879) where funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 2 P.M. with Rev.
