Marie Stiger

Marie Stiger, 78, of Oak Harbor, OH, passed away, Friday, November 9, 2018 at Elmwood Nursing Home, Fremont, OH, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s, surrounded by her loving family. Marie was born on February 21, 1940 in McAllen, TX, the daughter of Jesus “Jesse” R. and Consuelo (Zamudio) Carrisales. On June 15, 1968, she married James C. Stiger and he survives. Marie worked at the American Bank, which then became Society Bank and finally Key Bank for 37 years, until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of the Business Professional Women of Ohio and was on the Ottawa County MRDD board. Marie started out as a member of the Port Clinton Lioness Club and then became a member of the Port Clinton Lion’s Club. She was a very active member serving as the treasurer for many years. She was voted Lion of the Year and had received the Melvin Jones Award, the highest honor given to a Lion. Marie will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory are: Husband: James C. Stiger; Daughter: Lynette (Marty) Garza; Grandson: Dillon Stiger; Brother: Gilbert Carrisales; Sisters: Alicia Rickard, Rosie (John) Goodman, Gloria (Sean) Gardner Lisa (Scott) Murphy and many loving Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews Cousins. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Jesse Jr., Tommy and Eddie and brother-in-law: Jim Rickard. Family Friends may gather 2-6pm, Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton, OH.
