Marie Louise Rodeman

Marie Louise Rodeman, age 92, passed away May 9, 2017 at her home in Toledo. She was born July 28, 1924 in Akron, OH to Warren P. Kilway, M.D. and Marie Catherine (Labbe) Kilway. She was a graduate of St. Vincent High School in Akron and Marygrove College in Detroit, MI with a Bachelors Degree in Science. Marie started and operated one of the first grade school cafeterias in Akron, OH at St. Marthas Grade School until she married in 1949. She then focused on being a wife and mother. After the family moved to Toledo in 1960, Marie later worked part-time as a sales associate at LaSalles, Macys and Elder Beerman. Marie was very involved in her community specifically with the Gesu Parents Club, Gesu Altar Society, Bridge Club, Garden Club, St. Francis Chappius, and Notre Dame Parents Club. She loved traveling, spending time with her grandkids during Nanas weekends, and was an avid sports fan, (Go Blue!). Marie is survived by her children, John (Joanne) of Westland, MI, Virginia, Timothy, Patrick of Lawton, MI, Terrence (Roberta) of Columbus, OH, and Kevin (Linda) of Grand Ledge, MI; 10 grandchildren; sister, Kathleen Kilway; brother, Jack (Charlene) Kilway of Akron, OH; sisters-in-law, Doris Kilway of Akron, OH and Neoma Kilway of Portage, MI; brother-in-law, Jerry Rodeman of Cement City, MI; and special neighbors, William and Fran ONeal. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Daniel Rodeman; parents, Warren P. Kilway, M.D. and Marie C. Kilway; daughter-in-law, Marie A. Rodeman; brothers, W. Paul Kilway, M.D., Richard Edward Kilway, James B. Kilway, M.D.; and sister, Virginia Curry.
