Marie Ripich was born July 11, 1939 in Grafton, Ohio and passed away April 12, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother Marie's life was committed to her Christian faith and family. She was an active parishioner and choir member at Resurrection Church, Catawba Island for 40 years.
Marie enjoyed boating, spending winters in Florida and traveling the world with her husband and close friends. Marie excelled in many talents including cooking, flower arranging, sewing and quilting. Throughout the years she donated hundreds of hand sewn quilts to Akron Children's Hospital for terminally ill children.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband John of 64 years. She is survived by her two sons Robert Ripich (Valerie) and Kenneth Ripich (Mary); Grandchildren Maria Jarus (Dr. Robert), Andrew (Taylor), Madison, Parker, KJ, six Great Grandchildren.
Marie was the eldest of eight children. She is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Esther Wise, brother Lloyd Wise and sister Wilma Hohn. She is survived by siblings Helen Justice, Myrna Neff, Richard Wise, Robert Wise, and Wayne Wise.
Marie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Visitation is 9:30-11:00 am on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 21211 Detroit Rd, Rocky River and will be immediately followed by a funeral service.
The burial will be a private family ceremony.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.
