Marie Lohr

Marie (Ruhlman) Lohr, 90, of Perrysburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to George and Anna (Schmidt) Ruhlman on December 30, 1927. She married Richard W. Brunkhorst on June 24, 1944, then married Charles Lohr on September 2, 1974 and he preceded her in death in 1985. Marie owned an airport limousine business and drove school buses and coaches for many years. She was attended Fallen Timbers Community Church in Waterville and was active in various ministries over her lifetime. Marie had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing in the different church choirs she attended. For over 50 years, Marie was a devoted member of A.A. and also sponsored many others and was always available for guidance. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sandra A. Brunkhorst, Marie (Charles) Collins, Lindy J. Olewine, Richard G. Brunkhorst, Ann F. (Mark) Hatfield; step-daughter, Zillah Lohr; step-son, Charles Lohr; grandchildren, Deborah Thomson, Kenneth Petter, Rudolph Petter, Rebecca Heller, Donna Schilling Kuklis, Susan Leitzen, Richard J. Wagner, Richard A. Brunkhorst, Adam R. Brunkhorst, Joshua Valera, Jessica Bioty Hatfield, Zachary Chamberlin, Amanda Chamberlin; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; daughter, April J. Wagner, son-in-law, Eugene Olewine; daughter-in-law, Linda Brunkhorst; grandson, Scott Brunkhorst, who was killed in action in Afghanistan; siblings, Frances Timme, George Ruhlman, and Thomas Ruhlman. Friends will be received on Saturday, July 21, 2018 beginning at 12:00 Noon at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133), where a Funeral Service will take place at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be private in New York. Memorial contributions in Marie’s name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
