Marie Bernice Miller Clum

Marie B. Clum, 81, went to be with our Lord on August 17, 2011, after a three-month illness. She had been a resident of Tequesta Terrace Assisted Living in Tequesta, Florida, since January 2010. She was born May 26, 1930, to Lawrence and Norma Culot Miller in Monroe, Michigan. Survivors include children Susan Greg Beckman of Jupiter, FL, Kevin Clum of Adrian, MI, and Sharon Ken Shaw of Redmond, WA; four grandchildren, Amy Rob Pohorence of Port St. Lucie, FL, Wendy Josh Hackler of Tequesta, FL, Karl Clum of FL, and Damian Clum of Adrian, MI; and three great-grandchildren, Brittney Watson, Spencer and Marissa Hackler of Tequesta, FL. Also a brother-in-law, William Goodnough of Sylvania, OH, and a lifelong childhood best friend, Suzanne Kurczewski Dial of Toledo, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph, and her identical twin sister, Maureen Goodnough, both in 2009. Marie is a 1948 graduate of Monroe High School, Monroe, MI. Marie and Rudy were married June 17, 1950, at St. Marys Church in Monroe. She worked at The First National Bank of Monroe from 1947 until 1954, when she then devoted the rest of her life to homemaking and mothering three children. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining, reading and sewing. Her most favorite hobby was shopping. She had been a member of the Garden Club, Stone Oak County Club, and the Salesians Catholic Club. After the death of her husband, she moved to Florida and was actively involved in many family activities for the past 19 months. Grand-maw-maw especially enjoyed her youngest great-granddaughter, her Puddin Pie. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 27, at 10:00 a.m., with the Rosary recited at 12:15 p.m., at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial from the funeral home to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m., and burial at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, FL. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com
