Marianne Stewart

Marianne Stewart, 86, of Bowling Green, OH died August 9, 2024, at The Willows in Bowling Green. She was born on February 24, 1938, in Braeburn, PA to John and Mary E. (Knize) Colesar. Marianne graduated from Eastern Nazarene University in 1960. She married her childhood sweetheart, Daniel R. Stewart, in New Kensington, PA on August 27, 1960.

Marianne was a founding member of the Perrysburg Church of the Nazarene. For many years she has been a member of the Bowling Green Church of the Nazarene. At the two churches she has served in a variety of capacities. Her favorite times were leading Children’s Church and her Women’s Bible Study.

Her husband preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Karen A. (Brian T.) Summerson of Colorado Spring, CO and son, Daniel J. (Amy) Stewart of Broadlands, VA; grandchildren Brian J. (Beth) Summerson, Allison (Andrew) Simpson, and Rachel Hannah Stewart. She is also survived by two great grandsons and her sister, Eloise (Richard) Diffenderfer.

Funeral services will be held at the Bowling Green Church of the Nazarene, 1855 Gorrill Road, Bowling Green, OH, with Pastor Joel Nichols officiating on August 12, 2024, at 11:00 am with a visitation to be held prior at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Ft. Meigs Union Cemetery, Perrysburg, OH. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Bowling Green Church of the Nazarene, the American Parkinson’s Association, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
