Marianne Nowak

Marianne Nowak, 64, passed away peacefully at Ebeid Hospice on May 9, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, to Edward A. Nowak and L. Louise Nowak. Marianne began her nursing career at Flower Hospital working for nearly 40 years as a devoted nurse, showing her patients and colleagues kindness, empathy, and a great sense of humor. Not only was she dedicated to her patients, she cared passionately for her mom during her illness. Marianne was a true animal lover, especially of rabbits and cats, taking special care and spoiling her furry friends. The most important part of Marianne's life was being with family. She never wanted to miss a family gathering, always bringing gifts and goodies. She had an amazing memory for family dates and events so much so that everyone would say, "Let's ask Marianne." Her sweet smile, caring nature, and spirit of generosity will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Marianne is survived by her sister, Sharon Johnson (Terry); her brothers, Dr. Anthony Nowak (Betty) and Dr. Michael Nowak; her nieces and nephews, Stephanie Zimmerman (Andy), Matthew Johnson (Aziza), Carrisa Algea (Roy), Ryan Nowak (Stacy), and Zach Nowak; and many great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 West Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43623. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ebeid Hospice or Paws & Whiskers Cat Shelter.
