Marianna Spallino, 89, of Oregon, died May 12, 2023 at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Sant'Agata di Militello, Italy on July 5, 1933 to Guisseppe and Felicia (Morgano) Giorgianni. Marianna had a way of reaching out to people that was nothing short of amazing. She was a talented seamstress who served brides and other members of the community for over 50 years – her customers became her friends.
Marianna was a devoted, wife, mother, grandmother and a helpful friend. Her life was filled with purpose and meaning, and she was an optimist who found good in all situations. She knew how to make people feel better no matter the circumstances. Her positive energy radiated when she entered a room and strangers could be convinced they were lifelong friends after only a few moments with her. The love for her friends and family cannot be overstated. Her kindness was legendary. She was giving of herself, in spite of her own needs.
Marianna married the love of her life, Pietro Spallino, and they shared 64 years together. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by their five children, Maria (Douglas) Freyer, Antonio (Andrea) Spallino, Alberto (Susan) Spallino, Rita (Christopher) Casner, and Joseph (Sara) Spallino; twelve grandchildren, Vincenzo (Nikkii), Jordan (Nikki), Blake, Mia, Chase (Kayla), Taylor (Tyler), Megan, Courtney, Brayden, Dominic, Isabella, and Sofia; four great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Alexandra, Giorgiana, and Tucker.
Friends and family will be received in the Walker Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave. Oregon, Ohio 43616 from 2:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
