Zachel, Marian Marian Zachel, 89, passed away peacefully on February 26. Marian was born to Harry and Ida Taylor in Elyria, Ohio. She graduated from Libbey High School in 1944. She worked a number of years at Sears in downtown Toledo. In 1950, she married Anthony Zachel. She and Tony spent the next 50 years together until his death in 2000. Marian was baptized along with Tony as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1960 and spent nearly 55 years joyfully sharing good news of God’s Kingdom, including the resurrection of the dead. Her faith in God’s promise of a resurrection comforted her greatly during her final illness. Marian loved gardening and growing roses, she was also an artist, pianist and vocalist. She is survived by her five children, Bruce (Sue), Brian ( Kelly ), Jennifer (Paul) Goodwin, Laura (George) Dosch and Heidi (Daniel) Batdorff, 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Rosa, Tracey and others from Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care. Marian was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 139 Richards Road, Toledo, Ohio on Saturday, March 7 at 3:00 pm. Arrangements are being handled by Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Walbridge, Ohio (419-666-3121).
