Marian B. Faber, age 94, of Ottawa Hills, Ohio, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 14, 1917, in Toledo, Ohio to the late Gerhard and Mary Woodley Beroset. She was married to Robert Frederich Faber, who died on June 14, 2004. Two brothers, Gerhard and Donald Beroset, and foster daughter, Delores Henderson, also preceded her in death. Marian was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School and The University of Toledo. She was a member and president of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and was a member of Mortar Board. She was a speaker at The University of Toledo Commencement of 1963 as the Silver Anniversary Representative. Marian was a longtime member of Hope Lutheran Church in Ottawa Hills, where she was the first woman on the church council, serving two terms. She was a member of the board of the YWCA and the AAUW, and a past member of the Myakka Pines Golf Club. An avid traveler, she had a great sense of adventure and was a resident of Venice, Florida from 1976 to 2006. She found great enjoyment in reading, playing bridge, the piano and organ. Marian was very positive and active and will be remembered as the consummate loving grandmother. She is cherished and survived by her children, Chuck Faber and his wife Tuan Mei of Woodinville, Washington, Penny Sargent and her husband Larry of Granville, Ohio, Lynn Kampfer of Toledo, Ohio; six grandchildren, Thad Sargent and his wife, Jennifer of Centerville, Ohio, Michael Sargent of Paris, France, Kevin Sargent of Cleveland, Ohio, Cory Kampfer of New York City, Chris Faber of Toledo, Ohio, Kinsey Kampfer Mendoza and her husband Alonso of Las Vegas, Nevada and three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Danielle, and Nicole Sargent. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2012, at Hope Lutheran Church, Toledo, Ohio. Friends may visit the family following the service in the parish hall. Private interment will be held at Joy Cemetery in Ottawa Hills. Arrangements by the Walker Funeral Home, 419-841-2422. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E.
