Marian C. Elekonich

Marian Elekonich, age 78, of Toledo, died September 1, 2016 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. She was born September 4, 1937 in Toledo to the late Karl and Emma (Seawater) Recknagel. A devoted homemaker, Marian was a life member of the Toledo Firefighters Museum and enjoyed doing ceramics and embroidery in her free time. She found her greatest joy in doing for and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Marian will be remembered for her caring and generous personality and for her feisty sense of humor. She is preceded in death by George Elekonich. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michelle (Ben) Reynolds Elekonich, James (Peggy) Elekonich, Jane Elekonich, Ann Valdez and Kevin Elekonich; and grandchildren, Loren, James, Anthony and Emily. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Monday in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2016.
