Marian M. Cole, 84, of Genoa, died Monday evening, August 8, 2016, at Otterbein Portage Valley Retirement Village in Pemberville. She was born December 29, 1931, in Genoa, Ohio, to Arthur and Edith (Schumacher) Camper. Marian married Edwin V. Cole on September 11, 1954, at St. Johns Evangelical & Reformed Church in Genoa, and he preceded her in death March 9, 1991. Marian was an active member of St. Johns United Church of Christ in Genoa, where she sang in the church choir since the age of 18 and played on the churchs dartball team. She had been active on St. Johns Elderlife Board for the past 25 years. She was also active for many years on the Ottawa County Chapter of O.P.E.R.S. and just recently resigned as president due to health reasons. Marian worked for Joe Latham and his company for many years as his accountant. She also worked for Busdieckers in Woodville, Ohio, and then retired from Armstrong Mechanical Services. Marian kept very active throughout her life; she was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing softball, traveling, swimming, playing cards and working jigsaw puzzles. Surviving Marian are her daughter, Susan E. Cole (Paul K. Holewinski) of Genoa, siblings, Bertha M. Honner of Pemberville, Phyllis I. Camper of Genoa, Audrey J. Foss (Wilferd) of Oak Harbor, Gerald L. Camper and Judith A. Camper both of Genoa, niece, Laurie J. Cody (David) and nephew, Michael A. Foss (Wendy). Her parents and husband, Edwin, preceded her in death. Visitation for Marian will be 2-8 p.m., Thursday, August 11, 2016, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2016, at St. Johns United Church of Christ, 1213 Washington St., Genoa, with burial to follow in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Memorials may be directed to St. Johns Elderlife or the donors choice.
