Maria Urbina

Maria Urbina, 97, of Defiance, Ohio passed away at her residence on February 19, 2021. She was born in Monterrey, Mexico on May 8, 1923 to Bernabe and Hilaria (Lopez) Cuevas. Maria married Jose G. Urbina on April 14, 1967 and he preceded her in death on November 14, 2017. Maria was a loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends in and around Elmore and Defiance Ohio. She was a great cook who prepared wonderful Mexican meals for those around her. She enjoyed Mexican dancing, bingo and volunteering at the Latin-American Society in Defiance. Maria is survived by her stepdaughter, Juanita Ochoa, and sister, Trinidad Cuevas along with many nieces, nephews and friends in Defiance, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant son and brothers, Pedro and Juan Cuevas. A visitation for Maria will be from 10 AM until 12 Noon on Monday, March 1, 2021 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio. Masks are required along with social distancing. A service will begin at 12 PM in the funeral home with burial to follow in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa.
