Maria "Rosa" B. Quinones

June 18, 1936 — March 8, 2021

Maria “Rosa” B. Quinones, 84, of Maineville, Ohio and formerly of Clay Center, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2021. She had a strong faith in her Lord, Jesus Christ, and served as a pillar of strength and hope to her family and friends. Rosa took her last breaths, surrounded by the love of family. She was born in the great state of Texas (San Antonio), on June 18, 1936, the daughter of Rudolfo and Andrea (Suarez) Bernal. It was also in San Antonio that she met and married the love of her life, Alejandro S. Quinones on April 6, 1966. They were blessed with 51 years together. Rosa always leveraged the gifts she was blessed with and left behind a legacy of caring for and helping others. She spent many years as an intake coordinator at the Guadalupe Clinic in Toledo, Ohio. Being bi-lingual, she followed that career, as a labor recruiter for the State of Ohio, both in Genoa and Port Clinton, Ohio, for many years. She assisted local produce farmers in their hiring of full time and seasonal workers. Rosa was an adoring and dedicated mother to her children and extended family. No act of love or sacrifice was too much, in order to keep her children and family healthy and safe. By way of her beautiful name, Rosa loved spending hours gardening, especially in her later years. You would always find her amongst her flowers and plants; and with hands covered in dirt. Sometimes, her children would scold her for caring more for her garden, then her own health! Rosa is survived by her children, Eddie Almaraz, Judy (Jay, dec. 2019) Reyna, Sylvia Feldman, Andy Almaraz, Alex (Rosemary) Quinones, Alexsandra (Mike) Batdorf, Nina (Sam) Ramirez, 21 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, siblings, Belinda (John) Rogers, Joe (Sharon) Martinez and Eric Martinez. She was preceded in death by her mother, Andrea Martinez, husband, Alejandro, son, Rudy Almaraz, infant daughter, Judy Almaraz, grandson, Michael Barnes, granddaughter, Jessica Reyna, brother, George Martinez, and son-in-law, Jay Reyna. Private services will be conducted with burial in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St. Genoa, Ohio is honored to assist the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Veterans charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
