Maria Leal

Maria Elena Garcia Leal, 62, of Sylvania, OH, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday August 3, 2014 at the Toledo Hospital.  She was born on December 17, 1951 in Brownsville, Texas to Alberto and Agosta (Flores) Garcia.  Maria worked as a secretary for State Farm Insurance and AIG before she retired.  She loved to cook, listening to music, dancing, (especially to traditional Mexican music), and tending to her flowers.  Most of all, Maria loved spending time with her granddaughter, family and friends. Maria is survived by her husband of 31 years, Joemanuel; daughter, Elicia (Brad Delauter); mother, Agosta Garcia; granddaughter, Carmen Delauter; sisters, Juanita (Christopher) Garcia Crown, Norma (Joyce Windsor) Garcia, and Victoria (Kenneth) Garcia Snyder.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Maria was preceded in death by her father. According to her wishes, Maria has been cremated and a gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday August, 7, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 West Sylvania Ave, Toledo, Ohio(West of Cory Road).  Funeral services will be held on Friday August 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimers Association.  Online condolences may be given at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com
