Marguerite C. Jennings

Marguerite C. Jennings, 91, of Port Clinton and formerly of Findlay, OH, passed away, Saturday, October 22, 2011 at H. B. Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton. She was born on May 10, 1920 in North Baltimore, OH, the daughter of Frederick and Rose Webber Whyland. Marguerite worked as a nurse for Findlay Hospital and then in 1953 she worked in the emergency room at Magruder Hospital until age 70 , while working as an infirmary nurse at Ford Motor Co, Sandusky, OH for 27 years, retiring in 1987. She served as a nurse in the U. S. Army for 2 1/2 years. Marguerite was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was a member of the Retired Nurses Association that would meet 2 times per month. Marguerite enjoyed the Senior Center in Port Clinton, playing cards, Sudoko and visiting with her many friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marguerite will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: Daughter-in-Law: Anne Jennings of Avon, OH; 4 Grandchildren: Rob Kate Jennings, Sue Dave Pocos, Kathy John Gorbach Dan Jennings; and 7 Great-Grandchildren: Claire, Nate Matt Jennings, Tori, Zach, Josh Nick Pocos. Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, son: Fred Jennings, brother: Wilbur Whyland and sister: Jean Sustersic. Visitation will be 6-8pm, Thursday, October 27, 2011 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral services will begin with prayers in the funeral home, Friday, October 28 at 9:30AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH celebrated by Father John Missler. Interment will be 1:30 PM, Friday in St. Michaels Cemetery, Findlay, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to the Lakeshore Day Camp for special needs children in honor of her son Fred, P.O.
