Margaret Peggy Kathryn Spoerke

Margaret “Peggy” Kathryn Spoerke went to join her beloved family in heaven, on November 8th, 2017. Peggy was born on October 28, 1954, in Oregon, OH, to Ernest and Kathryn (nee Van Haren). She graduated from Rossford High School and less than a month ago attended her reunion where she had a “fabulous” time! Peggy’s first employment was at LaSalle’s in downtown Toledo, and she continued her life-time career working in retail, primarily many years with the Bon-Ton Stores (Elder-Beerman) as a Human Resources Manager. Peggy moved to the Dayton area 20 years ago, where she continued to touch others’ lives in a way only Peggy could – if one ever met her, one never forgot her! Peggy’s Catholic faith was important to her, and she lived her life accordingly. Also, she was an accomplished bowler, thoroughly enjoyed working in her yard, decorating her home for the holidays, and spending time with close friends and her beloved family. We will all miss her infamous “buckeyes” and everything else she did to make people feel special. To cherish each and every memory of Peg are: sisters – Mary (John) Strzelecki and Suzanne (Michael) Brodbeck, and sister-in-law, Sandy Spoerke. Also surviving are her nieces Angela (Aaron) Wade, Heather (Scott) Horoszewski, Patricia (Russell) Marriott, Amanda (Christopher) Szalkowski; her nephew, Nathan Brodbeck; and several great nieces-and-nephews. She also leaves a host of very dear friends. She is pre-deceased by her parents, her infant sister, Mary Kathryn, and her brother, Joseph Spoerke. Friends and family will be received at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 222 E. S. Boundary St. Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133) Saturday December 2, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a memorial service to begin at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be private at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery.
