Margaret Lou Roose

ROOSE Margaret Lou Nugent Margaret Lou Roose, age 82, passed away Friday, November 2, 2007 at her home in Ida, Michigan. Margaret was born February 24, 1925 in Toledo to Albert and Edna Nugent. She married her husband, Richard, in 1955 and lived on Rocksberry Avenue in South Toledo for many years before moving to Ida. Together, Margaret and Richard began Beverly Floor Covering and later, Roose Brothers Floor Covering, which they ran for over 40 years. Margaret was known for her beautiful sewing and knitting. She knitted socks, hats, and vests for Merchant Seaman stationed in New York and also knitted baby hats for newborns at Mercy Hospital in Monroe, MI. Margaret and her husband loved traveling and visited many cities worldwide. Margaret is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard; sons, Timothy Diane and Jeffrey Jean, and Scott Roose; daughters, Susan Robert Middleton and Sandra Larry Walton; grandchildren, Greg, Michael, Elizabeth, Thomas, Nicole, Brandy, and Brandon Roose, and David and Michael Walton; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, and Olivia Roose; and sister, Elizabeth Max McArthur. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Matt Roose; and nephew, Thomas McArthur. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. where funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday.
