Margaret Marie Tootie Mercer

Margaret Marie Tootie Mercer, passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo on her 92nd birthday Thursday, March 29, 2018. The daughter of Fred and Minnie Warns, she was born March 29, 1926 in Perrysburg Twp. She was a 1944 graduate of Perrysburg High School. Tootie married Harold Buck Mercer on June 6, 1948 in Stoney Ridge. At one time, she worked in childrens shoes at the Lions Store. She was a member of the Retired Toledo Police Officers Assoc., Toledo American Legion Auxiliary 512 and the F.O.P. Auxiliary. She was former member of Augsburg Lutheran Church and currently a member of Church of St. Andrew. Tootie loved to travel, but her family brought her the greatest joy. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great great grandson. She is survived by her children, Pam (Dick) Pohl, Terri (Russ) Burke; special adopted daughter, Patty (Allan) Schissler; grandchildren, Randy Pohl, Paula (Mike) Grieb; great grandchildren, Jordan (Miranda), Jeffery, Justin, Danielle; great great grandson, Jordan Jr.; sister-in-law, Kate Warns. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Lee Mercer; husband, Harold; brother, Vernon Warns. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, April 3 from 3-8 PM at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave (west of Corey Rd). A funeral service, to celebrate her 92 wonderful years, will be held at Church of St. Andrew 3620 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH 43614 on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the tremendous care of Tootie.
