Margaret Langevin, 96, of Waterville, went peacefully home to the Lord on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Born October 9, 1927, she was the youngest child of Raymond & Mary (Boellner) Armbruster.
Margaret was a graduate of Perrysburg High School and Bowling Green State University. She taught home economics briefly in public schools before her calling to Catholic education, teaching second-grade at Saint Joseph Catholic School (Maumee) for 30 years. Often, students who had her as a teacher would later request their children be assigned to her classroom. When not grading papers or writing lesson plans, she loved cooking and baking – her “granny treats” and “Aunt Margaret’s brownies” were legendary. Her faith was her strength and beautifully witnessed by her sacrifices and service to her family and the Catholic Church. She never spoke an unkind word.
Margaret was married on July 10, 1954, to Thomas R. Langevin. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage until his passing in 2018. They enjoyed their retirement in Lakeland, FL where they were active members of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Together, they raised six loving children: Cynthia Lafferty (Gary) of Lakeland, FL; Thomas Langevin (Sandie) of Belmont, NC; Monica Langevin (Tony McRae) of Rockingham, NC; Angela Langevin of Lambertville, MI; John Langevin (Peggy) of Waterville, OH; and Friar Paul Langevin, OFM Conv., of Chicago, IL. She was especially proud of her grandchildren, Zachary Asbury (Shannon), Jason Langevin (Elizabeth), Jennifer Justen (Michael), Taylor Langevin, and Julia Dix (Patrick), and she dearly loved her precious great-grandchildren, Nicholas Justen, Emmeline Langevin, Grant Justen, Genevieve Langevin, and Peyton Asbury. Along with her parents, and her husband and their infant son, Margaret was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Miller, her brothers, Edwin and Robert Armbruster and several in-laws. She is survived by numerous Langevin/Armbruster/Miller in-laws, nieces and nephews.
The family feels blessed by the dignified care given to Margaret in her time of need from the compassionate staff at Mercy Health – Perrysburg Hospital Progressive Care Unit and Hospice of Northwest Ohio (Perrysburg).
