Margaret Anne Kopp

Margaret “Anne” Kopp, 88, of Perrysburg passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Otterbein Portage Valley Retirement Village in Pemberville. She was born an identical twin on July 20, 1927 to Clinton “Chip” and Mary (Wilson) Houser of Toledo and was married on May 28, 1949 in Perrysburg to Charles T. Kopp. Anne graduated from Bowling Green State University with a major in art and a minor in speech and hearing therapy. She furthered her education with a degree in elementary education. Anne taught in the Central Avenue School in Sylvania and at Toth Elementary in Perrysburg. She was thrilled to teach first graders how to read knowing they would do well in the other curriculum. Anne had a flair for coordinating colors and textures and assisted many of her friends with decorating their homes. Charles and Anne were members of Zoar Lutheran Church in Perrysburg where she was a member of Esther Circle, taught fifth and sixth grade Sunday school, served as a greeter and enjoyed working on the decorating committee when the church was being remodeled. Anne was a life member of the Ohio Teachers Association and was a member of the Wood County and Perrysburg Teachers Associations. She is survived by her husband, Charles; daughter, Alison Brooks (Scott Purcell) of Mission Viejo, CA; twin sister, Gaye Dauer of Hendersonville, TN; grandson, Dr. Matthew Hunter Brooks, a Major in the Army stationed in FL ; nephew, Brett (Renee) Dauer and their two daughters, Katelyn and Hailey of Hendersonville, TN. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Houser. A visitation will begin at 10 A.M. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 E. Indiana Ave., Perrysburg, OH where a Memorial Service will be held at 11 A.M. with Pastor Timothy P. Philabaum officiating. Burial will be private in Fort Meigs Cemetery. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Zoar Lutheran Church or to Otterbein Portage Valley, 20311 Pemberville, Rd., Pemberville, OH 43450.
