Margaret Anne Kloss

October 31, 1930 — December 15, 2024

Margaret “Peggy” Anne (Rogers) Kloss, 94, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2024, with her children by her side. She had spent the past few months living at Hampton Manor of Bedford Assisted Living facility with her beloved husband who passed away 45 days prior.

Peggy was born on October 31, 1930 in Bessemer, Alabama. She was the daughter of Lofton Gilmer Rogers and Mary Kathleen Rogers.

She moved with her parents to Ohio as a young girl, graduated from Rogers High School in Toledo, OH, and worked as an OB-GYN nursing assistant. She married her husband, Donald D Kloss, on May 16, 1958 and enjoyed 66 years of marriage. She became a stay-at-home mother after her second child was born and enjoyed doing volunteer work for schools, nursing homes, election campaigns, and charities.

Peggy loved art and taking classes at The Toledo Museum of Art whenever she could. Drawing, oil painting, and watercolor on canvas were her favorite but she also enjoyed china painting and ceramics. She took up golfing later in life when her husband retired and they both belonged to Valleywood Golf Club. She loved traveling with Don and they enjoyed many vacations together, as well as with family and friends.

Peggy loved taking care of others and was always ready to serve a cup of tea and dessert to friends or family that stopped into her home. When her memory started to decline several years ago, her husband took over the caretaker role and he made sure she was unconditionally taken care of everyday.

Peggy is survived by her children Denise Larkins and David Kloss, grandchildren Joseph (Chrissy) Larkins, Paige Larkins, great granddaughters Zadie and Saylor Larkins, sister-in-law Boots Rogers, step brother-in-laws Roger (Elaine) Geiser, Mike (Ruby) Geiser, Kevin (Holly) Geiser, along with cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, older brothers Thomas Rogers, James Rogers, younger sisters Barbara Kelb, Elsie Ziegelhofer, brothers-in-law Edward Kelb Sr, Gus Ziegelhofer, and her grandson Jonathan Larkins.

A visitation will be held Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 1:00 p. m. to 3:00 p. m. and a private graveside service will be held the following day at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, OH.
