Margaret Kaatz

Margaret Kaatz, age 88, passed away on November 26, 2024. Born on January 19, 1936 to parents Ira and Ruth Eppard, Margaret was the youngest of 12 children. She was a lifelong resident of the Toledo area, and dedicated her career to teaching, mostly 3rd grade.

Margaret loved to travel, making yearly visits to Arizona with her husband, Bud, and other trips around the world to places including Russia, Australia, and New Zealand. She especially loved to travel to Hawaii. Later in life, Margaret took up quilting and was passionate about researching her family genealogy. At one point she combined her love of traveling and her interest in genealogy with a trip to Ireland where she was able to see places of significance to her family.

Margaret loved her family dearly. Being part of such a large family made family reunions particularly important to her. She will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren, especially her daughter, Sue Price, who faithfully cared for her for the last six years.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Karen Price; grandson, James Price; and 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Gail Price (John), Sue Price, and Kathy Burdge; grandchildren, Joey Duran, Cierra Church (Ben Williams), Jimmy Burdge (Tara), and Jessica Kramer (Sam); great-grandchildren, Andre Williams, Deleo Williams, Grant Kramer, Audrey Kramer, and Jordan Duran; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be held privately.

Margaret’s family would like to give special thanks to the staff members of Kingston of Perrysburg for taking excellent care of their mother.
