Margaret M. Connolly died September 5, 2018 at Kingston of Sylvania, just 45 days shy of her 102nd birthday. She was born October 20, 1916 in Luckey, Ohio and was raised by her late mother and step father, Mable Warns Sergen and Harry Sergen. She attended Woodward High School through the 10th grade, leaving school to work. In her free time, she loved her flower gardens, dogs, feeding her squirrels, playing Euchre, crocheting, playing slots in Detroit and bowled well into her 80s. She was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians and also enjoyed watching golf and Detroit Lions football. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Sharon Fike; son, Thomas (Nancy) Connolly; six grandchildren, Joe Fike, Jill Gordon, Joan Neeley, Tommy Joe, Jeff and Mark Connolly; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including Ron Warns who called every Sunday; and dear friend, George Gibbons, who came to visit several times a week. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Connolly in 1974; and brothers, Hank and Glen Warns. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at 4:00 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) Interment at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery will be private. Memorials are suggested to ProMedica Hospice or the Toledo Area Humane Society.
