Margaret A Carrisalez

Margaret A. “Maggie” Carrisalez, 69, of Port Clinton passed away, Wednesday afternoon, November 18, 2020 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky following a lengthy illness complicated with the Corona virus. She was born in Sandusky, OH to the late Dorothy (Krieger) and Franklin Knerr. On July 31, 1993 she married Eddie Carrisalez and he preceded her in death on May 9, 2011. Maggie retired in 2000 from Prudential Insurance Company in Sandusky after 32 years of service. Following her retirement she joined Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, where she was the smiling face and uplifting voice at the funeral home, working as an administrative assistant. A kind and gentle spirit, Maggie assisted families served at the funeral home until her retirement in 2019. Maggie’s greatest joy was her grandchildren, Kennadi & Kaleb. Known to them as“Mimi”, Maggie would follow their all of their activities and sporting events. She was there to support them for every victory and defeat. For many years she collected Longaberger Baskets, Boyd’s Bears and Dreamsicles. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends crafting and shopping. Maggie is survived by her grandchildren, Kennadi and Kaleb; daughter, Jennifer (Denise) Roderick; son-in-law, Charles (Marie) Shultz; brother-in-law, Gilbert Carrisalez; sisters-in-law, Rosie (John) Goodman and Gloria Shawn Gardner, Alicia Rickard, and Lisa (Scott) Murphy; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Michael and James Knerr, brothers-in-law, Tommy and Jesse Carrisalez, and sister-in-law, Maria Stiger. A graveside service for Maggie, open to family and friends will occur at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 23, 2020 at Christy Chapel Cemetery, Port Clinton. Please wear a mask and adhere to social distancing. The Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio assisted Maggie’s family with arrangements.
