Margaret E. Bodnar, 97, of Port Clinton, OH passed away Friday, June 11, 2010 at Providence Care Center, Sandusky, OH. Margaret was born on June 07, 1913 in Cleveland, OH, the daughter of Joseph and Julia Bognar Arvaji. On June 22, 1935 in Cleveland, OH, she married Joseph F. Bodnar and he preceded her in death on September 12, 2004. Margaret was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH. She worked as a homemaker. Margaret loved music, reading and making her own clothes and also clothes for her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: Daughter: Patricia D. Cernek of Lexington, KY; Grandchildren: Deborah Carver of Oceanside, CA, Joan Jack Bryant of Evans, GA and Michelle and Christine Cernek of Lexington, KY; Great-Grandchildren: Kendra Carlstedt, Jessica Bryant, Carissa McGothlin and Stephen Lyal and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild: Kingston Dublette. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Elmer Arvaji and son-in-law: Richard Cernek. Visitation will be 5-8PM, Sunday, June 13, 2010 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. A Funeral Mass will be conducted by Father John Missler at 10:00AM, Monday, June 14, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, with family prayers beginning at 9:30AM, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions in memory of Margaret may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Stein Hospice or The Port Clinton Volunteer Fire Dept.
